About the Academic Community
The Academy’s educational programmes are built on a strong academic community with high expertise and scholarly staff within the classical tradition, music theory and music history, music pedagogy and pedagogy. Research at Barratt Due Academy is conducted primarily within artistic research, but also includes scholarly projects within music theory, music history and music pedagogy. Artistic research and academic research shall contribute to professional development in the academy. We facilitate the sharing of experience, reflection and collaboration – and cultivate an environment characterized by openness, inspiration and curiosity. Through close interaction between teaching, artistic research, academic research and performance-practice, we seek to strengthen both the individual and collective artistic expression.
Sharing and Dissemination
Barratt Due Academy shall be an active disseminator of new knowledge and artistic insight. We aim to share processes and outcomes from our artistic and research-based work – both internally and externally through, among concerts, lectures and digital platforms. Our goal is to contribute to professional development in the field of music, inspire reflection and engagement in the public sphere, and strengthen the understanding of music’s value in society.
