Course Overview

Learning Outcomes

Students who have successfully completed the course:

  • have experience of musical and organisational collaboration, including the planning and implementation of rehearsals both within the ensemble and in collaboration with the teacher.
  • are able to shape a personal and unified musical expression through chamber music collaboration.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The repertoire is divided into two categories:

Category 1: Solo ensemble repertoire from operas, oratorios, cantatas, masses and related genres.

Category 2: Chamber music, defined as music written for two or more singers and/or instrumentalists. In ensembles consisting of only two performers, both members must be students.

The course includes:

  • Group instruction, with group composition varying according to the repertoire.
  • Regular individual preparation.
  • Regular rehearsals with the ensemble without the teacher present.
  • Performances in concerts and staged productions.
