For mer info, se arrangementsoversikten.

Barratt Due Hosts the YMTE Annual Conference 2026
Young Music Talents in Europe (YMTE) brings together specialised music schools and organisations across Europe that provide high-level music education for talented young musicians. As a non-profit organisation, YMTE promotes the exchange and development of expertise through collaboration and mobility opportunities for students, teachers and staff.
Barratt Due Institute of Music is pleased to host the 2026 YMTE Annual Conference in Oslo.
Over three days, the conference will bring together leaders, teachers, researchers and European partners to explore what high-quality pre-college music education should mean today. Participants will address topics including artistic excellence, student wellbeing, learning outcomes, transitions to Higher Music Education, international mobility, and emerging approaches to teaching and learning.
Learning, Transition and the Future of Young Musical Talent
How can Europe strengthen pathways for young musical talent while preserving the diversity and richness of its educational traditions?
A central part of the programme will present findings from YMTE’s Erasmus+ Learning Outcomes project. Delegates will discuss and respond to the findings, helping to formulate a pre-college perspective for YMTE’s contribution to the AEC Congress in November.
The conference will conclude by identifying practical priorities for future collaboration within YMTE and exploring how the network can continue to strengthen opportunities for young musicians across Europe.
Alongside the conference, young musicians from the various member institutions are invited to take part in a dedicated student project. Here, they rehearse together, share experiences and get to know one another while preparing for the concert Music Across Borders. The concert is free of charge and open to everyone. For details, see the events calendar.
