Annual Cycle and Reporting
The annual cycle for the Academy’s quality assurance work provides the framework for the implementation of systematic quality assurance activities and is organised into three overarching phases: evaluation, action and implementation.
Reporting
Each year, the work relating to the quality of education is summarised in three key reports:
- Annual Programme Reports
- Annual Report of the Learning Environment Committee
- Annual Report on the Quality of Education
The latter is submitted to the Board for consideration.
- Study Programme Report
- Learning Environment Committee Survey
- Annual Report to the Board
Annual Programme Reports
An annual programme report is prepared for each study programme. The report provides an overview of the status of the various quality areas and includes proposals for actions where adjustments or more substantial changes are required. Key findings are incorporated into the Annual Report on the Quality of Education submitted to the Board. Agreed actions are implemented and incorporated into goals and plans that are anchored within the academic community.
Responsibility for implementation and follow-up
Programme Leaders, in collaboration with the administration, prepare the reports, which are submitted to the respective Programme Committees for recommendation. The Rectorate and the Head of the Academy review and approve the reports.
Timing
Programme reports are prepared annually, with final approval in June.
Follow-up of the programme reports follows the Academy’s annual cycle. Following the evaluation period from February to May, actions to be implemented are identified between June and September. Further planning takes place from October to January, while implementation is carried out from February to May.
Basis for Evaluation of the Annual Programme Reports
Annual Report of the Learning Environment Committee
The Learning Environment Committee prepares an annual report for the Board documenting the Committee’s work throughout the year. In years when a Learning Environment Survey is conducted (every three years), the report also includes a summary of the findings and a plan for following up identified actions.
Responsibility for Implementation and Follow-up
The Learning Environment Committee is responsible for ensuring that evaluations are carried out and for proposing any necessary actions. The annual report is submitted to the Board.
The annual report is presented to the Programme Committees for information. Relevant matters arising from the report are communicated directly by the Chair of the Learning Environment Committee to the appropriate Programme Committees for follow-up.
Timing
The annual report is prepared each year in June.
Annual Report on the Quality of Education
Based on the Study Programme Reports, Academy Management prepares an Annual Report on the Quality of Education for the Board. The report presents the main trends relating to the overall quality of education at The Barratt Due Academy and provides an account of progress in relation to the goals and plans established by the Board.
The Learning Environment Committee reports directly to the Board through its annual report.
On the basis of the Annual Report on the Quality of Education and the Annual Report of the Learning Environment Committee, the Board determines quality enhancement measures for the coming year.
Timing
The evaluation is conducted annually, with decisions adopted by the Board in September.
