Learning Outcomes

Students who have successfully completed the course:

  • have experience of musical and organisational collaboration, including the planning and implementation of rehearsals both within the ensemble and in collaboration with the teacher.
  • have knowledge of chamber music repertoire from different historical periods and an understanding of the challenges associated with ensemble playing.
  • are able to create a personal and unified musical expression in collaboration with others.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The course includes:

  • Participation in workshops.
  • A project week with a focus on repertoire and ensemble playing.
  • Instruction and ensemble work with one or more teachers.
  • Regular individual preparation.
  • Concert performances.
