Yoko Toda
Accompanist●AcademyYoko Toda has a strong musical education from both Tokyo and Oslo. She has been affiliated with the Barratt Due Institute of Music since 2000 and now teaches students at the Academy.

Yoko Toda is an active accompanist, chamber musician, and orchestral pianist. She was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1973 and began playing the piano at the age of five. In addition to her teaching work, she is employed as a ballet répétiteur at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet.
Toda was educated at the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, where she received the Takeoka Prize for the best graduation in 1996. After studying Franz Liszt, she graduated with a master’s degree from Kunitachi College of Music in 1998.
In 2000, Toda received a Rotary scholarship, which allowed her to study as a guest student with Professor Jiri Hlinka at the Barratt Due Institute of Music. Two years later, she performed as a soloist with the Barratt Due Orchestra in the University Hall and gave a solo recital at the Bergen International Festival.
Yoko Toda has been affiliated with the Barratt Due Institute of Music as a teacher since 2003. Since 2009, she has held a permanent position as an associate professor and works in the accompaniment department at the Academy.
