Per Gisle Haagenrud

Violin, Head of Strings●Young Talents Bergen

Per Gisle Haagenrud works as coordinator and section leader for Young Talents Bergen.

Per Gisle Haagenrud has had a long and distinguished career as both a musician and educator, and he works with talent development at Unge Talenter Barratt Due in Bergen.

He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music under Leif Jørgensen and also trained with Aron Rosand, Yehudi Menuhin, and Detlef Hahn.

In 1980, he was appointed first violinist of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2005, he has worked full-time as a teacher specializing in talent development.

He previously worked in the talent program at the Grieg Academy, where he also served as a substitute principal violin teacher. For many years, he was the musical and artistic director of the Halsnøy Summer School, an orchestral and chamber music course for young musicians.

In addition to his work at Barratt Due in Bergen, Per Gisle Haagenrud also teaches at the Valdres Summer Symphony.
