Ole Eirik Ree

Ole Eirik Ree is the Vice Principal for Education and Associate Professor of Cello at Barratt Due Institute of Music, and a permanent member of the music collective Det Norske Kammerorkester.

Ole Eirik Ree is Vice Principal for Education and Associate Professor of Cello at Barratt Due Institute of Music, as well as a permanent member of the musician collective Det Norske Kammerorkester.

He has participated in numerous recordings as a chamber musician, orchestral musician, and soloist, most recently on the 2024 Spellemann-winning contemporary release Patientia, collaborating with artists including Sara Övinge, Kjetil Bjerkestrand, and Det Norske Kammerorkester.

Ree holds a Doctorate in Music from Mason Gross School of the Arts, USA, where he studied with cello legend Zara Nelsova and the Guarneri Quartet. He plays an E. Rocca cello, generously on loan from Dextra Musica (Sparebankstiftelsen).

Ole Eirik Ree’s teaching and office are located on the second floor at Lyder Sagens gate 2.
