Ole Christian Haagenrud is considered one of Norway’s most promising young pianists.
He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music, completing his diploma studies in 2014 under professors Jens Harald Bratlie and Håvard Gimse.
In addition to his solo performances, Haagenrud is a highly sought-after chamber musician and accompanist. He regularly performs at festivals both in Norway and abroad and frequently collaborates with some of Norway’s leading musicians.
He has received numerous awards and distinctions, gaining recognition in both national and international competitions. In 2008, he won the Youth Music Championship (Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap, UMM) and was named Musician of the Year. In 2014, he was awarded the Robert Levin Festival Prize. He has performed as a soloist with professional symphony orchestras such as the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, with many of his concerts broadcast on national and international TV and radio.
Haagenrud has played on several prestigious stages across Europe, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Brahms Saal at the Musikverein in Vienna, Stephaniensaal in Graz, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall in Vilnius, the Slovenian Philharmonic Hall in Bratislava, and Casa da Música in Porto.
