Nora Taksdal
Viola●Musikk på Majorstuen, Young TalentsNora Taksdal teaches students at Musikk på Majorstuen and the Young Talents programme. She plays a viola on loan from the Sparebankstiftelsen Dextra Musica, built by Domenico Buzan in Venice in 1745.

Nora Taksdal was educated at the Østlandets Music Conservatory and the Norwegian Academy of Music, and holds a soloist diploma from Folkwang Hochschule in Germany.
Taksdal co-founded the Vertavo Quartet, in which she played for ten years. She has been a permanent solo violist with both the Bergen and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestras, and since 2006 has served as principal violist in the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. She also has experience with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and several contemporary music ensembles. Taksdal has a diverse background internationally and nationally as a soloist, chamber musician, improviser (collaborating with musicians such as Ketil Bjørnstad, Bugge Wesseltoft, and Sinikka Langeland), music communicator, and educator. She has produced numerous radio programs for NRK P2.
Taksdal has taught at the University of Oslo, Grieg Academy in Bergen, the Norwegian Academy of Music, and Barratt Due Institute of Music. Her greatest passion is the lively music students at Majorstuen School.
She is a lecturer in instrumental pedagogy and teaches viola, chamber music, and interpretation at Musikk på Majorstuen.
