Liv Kjersti Sandve

Together with Kjell Magnus Sandve, Liv Kjersti Sandve won 1st prize in the duet category at the International Opera & Concours competition in Belgium.

After completing her education at the Norwegian National Opera Academy, Liv Kjersti Sandve made her debut in 1983 at the Deutsche Nationaltheater in Weimar in the role of Pamina in The Magic Flute. Since then, she has had numerous solo engagements in Norway and abroad, appeared on television and radio, and contributed to several recordings.

Liv Kjersti Sandve made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera as Musetta in La Bohème. Later, audiences at the Opera in Oslo have seen her as Zerlina in Don Giovanni and as Valenzienne in The Merry Widow. As a soloist, Sandve has been engaged in roles such as Violetta in La Traviata, Pamina and the First Lady in The Magic Flute, Sandrina in La finta giardiniera, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Despina in Così fan tutte, Musetta in La Bohème, and Lady Billow in Albert Herring (or Maigreven) in productions at Operaen i Kristiansund, West Norway Opera, Sandefjord Opera Festival, Opera Mobile, Oslo Mozart Festival, Opera Nordfjord, and the Oslofjord Opera Festival.

Liv Kjersti Sandve has performed as a soloist at the Bergen International Festival, the Elverum Music Festival, and the Trollhaugen Concert Series, and has sung with the Oslo Philharmonic, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. She has appeared on television and radio, and in staged productions of art songs, opera, and operetta she has performed in Germany, the USA, Belgium, and Russia.

Together with Kjell Magnus Sandve, Liv Kjersti Sandve won 1st prize in the duet category at the International Opera & Concours competition in Belgium. The two have performed together in many opera and operetta productions in Norway and abroad, and contributed to CD recordings.

Liv Kjersti Sandve has been an associate professor at the Barratt Due Institute of Music since 2000. She also teaches at Musikk på Majorstuen.
