Kristoffer Almås

Kristoffer Almås teaches percussion at Musikk på Majorstuen.

Kristoffer Almås is a chamber musician and freelance percussionist. He has strong expertise in live electronics, in addition to solo and chamber music in more traditional settings. Both as a soloist and with his percussion duo, he has performed at many of Norway’s leading festivals and venues.

He holds a master’s degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he also completed his bachelor’s degree in 2016. In addition, he has studied at the University of Southern Denmark. Almås is a former academy musician with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and has been an intern with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. He has freelanced with many of Norway’s professional ensembles and all of the country’s symphony orchestras.

He has performed chamber music with musicians such as Leif Ove Andsnes, Colin Currie, and Katarzyna Mycka. Together with Bjørn-Christian Svarstad, he forms the percussion duo **PERCelleh**, which joined the Crescendo mentor program in 2017. He is also a co-founder of **Interpuls**, a festival that promotes minimalist music.

Kristoffer Almås teaches percussion at Edvard Munch Upper Secondary School and Musikk på Majorstuen.
