Frauke Oesmann is alternating principal flutist at Den Norske Opera & Ballett and teaches flute at Musikk på Majorstuen, Barratt Due musikkinstitutt.
She holds a diploma from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, where she studied with Jean-Claude Gérard, and has also studied in Salzburg and Oslo with Michael Kofler and Andrea Lieberknecht.
Since 2011, she has been alternating principal flutist at Den Norske Opera & Ballett. Previously, she was principal flutist with the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya. She has been a fellow at the Karajan Academy with the Berlin Philharmonic, a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and has substituted in various Norwegian orchestras.
In 2024, she completed practical pedagogical training (PPU) at Norges musikkhøgskole. At Musikk på Majorstuen, she primarily provides individual flute lessons, as well as ensemble coaching and orchestral project preparation.
