David Meier has distinguished himself as a soloist in international competitions, performed with orchestras in Germany and the USA, and contributed to radio broadcasts and several CD recordings. He is also a versatile educator, teaching piano at the Barratt Due Institute of Music.
Meier was trained in Germany under Paul Buck and Konrad Elser. While completing his soloist studies in Lübeck, he also taught piano at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock.
He has performed with orchestras in Germany and the USA and has participated in multiple radio recordings and CD projects. He earned top honors as a soloist at the European Piano Competition in Bremen, receiving first prize, the audience award, and three special prizes for his interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, and contemporary music. Meier has also achieved distinction in the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund and the International Beethoven Competition in Bonn.
He has been a faculty member at Barratt Due since 2009, teaching piano across the Music School, Young Talents, and College programs.
