Clare Farr

Clare Farr has been the bass trombonist of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra since 2013 and is also active as a judge, band conductor, and music educator, in addition to teaching at Musikk på Majorstuen.

After completing her bachelor’s studies in Stavanger and Manchester, Clare Farr earned her master’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2001. In the following years as a freelance musician, she held long-term contracts with the Oslo Philharmonic and the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, and frequently substituted in orchestras and ensembles both in Norway and abroad.

Clare released her solo album Loudmouthed Beauty in 2022. She is also the bass trombonist of the Norwegian Trombone Ensemble, which released their first album Nibbles in 2020. In addition to performing, Clare is active as a judge, band conductor, and music educator. She currently conducts the Torshov Janitsjar Orchestra and teaches at the Barratt Due Institute of Music.
