In addition to the Nordic languages, Astrid Eggesvik is able to handle inquiries in Italian, German, and French.

Astrid Eggesvik serves as the orchestra consultant for the Young Talents programme, where she oversees all of the children’s and youth orchestras at the institute. She is based in Lyder Sagens Gate, and can be reached there on Wednesdays, Fridays, and one evening each week.

In her role, Astrid manages a wide range of administrative and organizational tasks, including application processes, registration, updates, fundraising, concert coordination, orchestra budgeting, reporting, information gathering, travel arrangements, communication with parents and teachers, and event planning.

She also acts as the orchestras’ liaison with Oslo Musikkråd (Oslo Music Council), the Norwegian Youth Orchestra Association (De Unges Orkesterforbund), and the chairpersons of each individual orchestra. In addition, she follows up on the chamber music courses.

Beyond her work at the institute, Astrid is the chairperson and manager of Absolutt Cello, an ensemble that includes many of the institute’s cellists. She works closely with Torfinn Hoffart and has been part of Barratt Due’s classical orchestra community since the founding of Absolutt Cello in 2007. Since 2017, she has also been involved with Musikk på Majorstuen.

Astrid’s professional background is in journalism and translation, with experience from Hjemmet Mortensen, Egmont, Cappelen, and Damm. She holds a degree from the University of Oslo, where she studied law, social and business economics for lawyers, and Nordic language and literature.
