Antonio José Vera Escribano is the alternate principal trumpet in the Opera Orchestra at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet and teaches trumpet at Unge Talenter and Barratt Due College.
He has previously served as principal trumpet in the Málaga Symphony Orchestra, European Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra, Moldova Symphonic Orchestra, and the International Youth Orchestra & National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE). In addition, he has appeared as a guest with orchestras such as the Spanish Radiotelevision Orchestra, Málaga Philharmonic, and the High School of Music “Reina Sofía” Orchestra.
He has taught at several music schools and conservatories in Spain (Málaga, Jaén, Cádiz, Granada, Sevilla) and has given masterclasses across much of Europe. Antonio teaches at the Summer Brass Festival Alicante and is a member of the Málaga Brass Quintet and Málaga Brass Ensemble, both of which he helped to establish.
Escribano studied with Benjamín Moreno, principal trumpet of the Spanish Radiotelevision Orchestra, as well as Antonio Aragón Cortés and Antonio González Portillo at the Málaga Conservatory of Music. He has also studied with Reinhold Friedrich, William Forman (Hanns Eisler Berlin), and with Gábor Tarkövi & Thomas Clamor (Berlin Philharmonic). Additionally, he has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned musicians from around the world.
