Checklist before you start your Master studies

Each semester, you must register as a student, and pay the semester fee to SiO (also called SiO fee) in StudentWeb.
This confirms your education plan for the current semester and activates your student status.

You will lose your right to study if you have not paid and registered for the semester by the deadline.

• Fall semester
  • Opens for registration June 15.
  • Deadline September 1.
• Spring semester
  • Opens for registration December 1.
  • Deadline February 1.

(You only need to register for the semester and pay the SiO fee to NMH)

Start registration

• Log in to Studentweb using your username and password at NMH.
• Check that your address, phone number and email address are correct.
• Navigate to the semester fee page, and pay the fee.

Disbursement terms from the Loan Fund

Payment of semester fees and semester registration is a prerequisite for receiving a loan from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund.
Master’s students will be registered by the study administration at Barratt Due Academy, so that tuition loans will be disbursed.

NMH username and password (FEIDE)

You need an NMH username and password (also called a FEIDE password). You use this to log in to the Academy of Music’s various services.

You will need a Norwegian personal identification number and a Norwegian telephone number registered in Studentweb to retrieve your username and password online.

How to retrieve your username and password online

1. Retrieve your username by visiting passord.nmh.no.
2. Enter your national identity number.
3. You will then receive a username and a link to change/create a new password.
4. Enter your phone number. You will be sent a password via SMS.
5. Change your password.

Wait 30-35 minutes for the account to be activated before you log in.

Loans and scholarships

The invoice for tuition fees will be sent to your email at the start of your studies. The deadline for payment is September 15th for the fall semester, and February 15th for the spring semester.

Access card

The access card gives you access to BDM buildings and practice rooms. The card is also used for copying/printing from BDM printers.

How to obtain an access card?

All new students are given an access card at the beginning of their studies. A photo for the access card will be taken at an information meeting on Tuesday in the orientation week.

Student ID

The student ID app functions as a student ID, and will be valid in the same way as the previous paper receipt.

For the student ID to be valid, you must have paid the semester fee and registered for the semester in Studentweb (NMH).

• Download the Studentbevis app (Android) / Student ID (iOS)
• Find the Norwegian Academy of Music and log in with Feide.
• Activate your profile picture by accepting the use of images in Studentweb (under “my profile” > “Consent”)

At the start of your studies, you will be assigned an email address from the Academy.

The format for an email address at BDM is: firstname.lastname@student.bdm.no.

Office365
Office365 gives you as a student access to Microsoft Office programs. Your license covers the online version of the Office suite: Word, Excel, OneNote, etc. and storage in OneDrive.

• Log in to Office 365
• Username: your student email
• Password: same password as email.

Two-step login

Two-step login is set up as standard, meaning that you must use either SMS or a mobile app in addition to your password to log in. In the standard setup, you will receive SMS, but Braathe recommends that you set up the app on your phone: see instructions here.

To access email from NMH, you must log in with the username and password that was created before semester registration. Your email address will then be “username@nmh.no”
Note that this is different from the BDM email.

Set up email forwarding from NMH email to BDM email

• Go to: https://outlook.com/nmh.no
• Log in with your NMH username and password.
• Click on the Gear wheel at the top right > Click on Show All Outlook Settings Click on Forwarding. Click on Enable Forwarding.
• Enter the email to be forwarded to (firstname.lastname@student.bdm.no). Make sure the email is completely correct.
• Click Save at the bottom right.
• Click the cross at the top right of the window.
• Send an email to your NMH email address and check that you receive it in your BDM email inbox.

Barratt Due uses ASIMUT as a room reservation and timetable tool. In ASIMUT you will find an overview of group and class teaching as well as individual teaching and test plans for Barratt Due University College’s projects. You can also use ASIMUT to reserve rooms for self-practice.

You can easily subscribe to your personal timetable so that it is always available and up-to-date on your phone.

New to Asimut?

Log in to Asimut and get to know your schedule:

• Username: firstname.lastname
• First-time login: Press «change or reset password»
• Follow the instructions in the email you receive.

NB! At the start of your studies, your private email address will be replaced with student@bdm-email.

TimeEdit is your timetable at NMH and gives you the opportunity to book rooms at the college.
Search for your name, a specific subject or room. This is especially important to get the timetable for Music in Perspective and any electives you choose in the 2nd year of study.

Instructions for how to subscribe to the calendar in TimeEdit:

Go to your own timetable in TimeEdit. At the top right you will find the button “Subscribe”. We recommend choosing “Time: Today +6 months”. Copy the link below and add this to your calendar app in the same way as with ASIMUT.

NMH uses the Canvas learning platform.
Here you can communicate with teachers and students, get information, course material, retrieve and submit assignments. Here you will also register your desired project in Music in Perspective.

• Download the app “Canvas Student” from the Appstore or Google Play
• Select the Norwegian Academy of Music and log in.
• Customize the notifications in Canvas so that the notifications that are useful to you
• Log in with your username and password in Canvas.

At Lyder Sagens gate 2, all students have access to multifunction printers.
There is one printer on the first floor and two on the third floor.
You can print/copy printouts by logging in with your personal code.

First time setup for students:

• Open your preferred browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
• Go to the following website: https://bdm.eu.uniflowonline.com/
• Then enter your BDM email address in the “Email” field and select “Continue”
• Go to your email inbox and find the email from the address noreply@bdm.eu.uniflowonline.com
• Click on the link “Click here to access uniFLOW Online”
• You will now receive a pin code, the pin code will be used by you to log in to the printer when you collect your printouts.

Guidelines for using the copier can be found at to click here, and at the printers in Lyder Sagens gate. You may also ask the reception for help.

• In the basement of Lyder Sagens gate 2 (LS2) you will find student shelves. These are primarily used by teachers and the orchestra manager for assignments and sheet music.
• Storage lockers: Contact SUT regarding lockers.
• There are two instrument rooms at Barratt Due University College: Lyder Sagens gate 2 and Norabakken.
• The code to the instrument rooms is available upon request.
